1 Thessalonians 5: 16-19 tells us, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Our prayer ministry exists to engage believers in the need for prayer, to equip believers in the disciplines of prayer, and to enlist believers who daily labor in prayer. Intercessory Prayer Ministry The Intercessory Prayer Ministry of Liberty Park Baptist Church is for intercessors to lift up others and their needs to our heavenly Father. Intercessors come to the Prayer Room once a week for one hour. There are several areas of prayer that are lifted up: the lost, the ill, those with different types of trials in their lives, our church, the staff, church leaders, missionaries, our country, the military, our community, and the ministries of our church. This ministry is open to anyone who feels led by God to intercede on behalf of others and dedicate one hour a week to praying for the many needs and requests that are made known to us. We invite you to make prayer a priority in your life and let God lead you to join us in this ministry. The Daniel Prayer Ministry This ministry was formed for those in our church fellowship who are not able to come to the Prayer Room to pray. We have fourteen prayer warriors who pray each week for prayer requests that are made known to them by our Intercessory Prayer Ministry. If you or someone you know is not able to come to the prayer room during the week, we invite them to become a member of this very active and vital ministry. You can call any staff member and let them know you are interested in participating in this ministry. The members of the Daniel Prayer Ministry pray along with our Intercessory Prayer Ministry. Ladies Prayer Group If you would like to strengthen your prayer life and bind your heart with the hearts of others in prayer, please consider being a part of a Ladies Prayer Group. The Prayer Group will meet in the evening, once a month. We pray that we will come to know God’s heart as our heart. We will concentrate on prayer for our schools, the children, the families in our community, special burdens of prayer, and service in our church fellowship. We invite you to join us in this very meaningful time as we bond as one and partner with God in prayer. The Church Prayer Walk Prayer walking is defined as intercession, on location, with information, in cooperation, against opposition, for glorification or more simply put, praying on site with insight. On the third Saturday of each month, we join together to walk through our church building, praying for every facet of ministry and asking for the Lord’s hand to be upon each person who participates. We pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to be upon each and everyone who attends our worship services and Bible study ministries. We invite you to experience the joy of praying for the Lord’s work and watch how He uses our prayers to enrich our lives as well as enhance our ministries. Preparatory Intercessors We want to enlist members willing to come either Saturday afternoon or early Sunday morning to prayer walk the sanctuary, praying over every pew, asking the Lord to have His hand on every facet of our service and to touch every person in attendance. We would pray for a hedge of protection over our church as we walk through the sanctuary, praying against any form of attack from the enemy. Worship Service Intercessors We are working to enlist members who are willing to pray during our worship services. This would involve people being in the Prayer Room during the two morning worship services and the evening worship service. They would pray for the service, the Pastor, and those who need to make decisions for Christ or need a church home. They would pray that the Holy Spirit’s presence would be felt among those worshiping and that the Spirit would move hearts to be responsive to God.
