The Kingdom of God
Mark 10:1-31 | Pastor Buck Poole | July 5, 2026
TRUTH: Faithfully living in the Kingdom of God requires us to, at times uncomfortably, challenge the world’s vallues.
1. The Kingdom of God values covenantal marriages.
6 But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ 7 ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
– Mark 10:6-9 ESV
2. The Kingdom of God values childlike humility.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
– Mark 10:14-15 ESV
3. The Kingdom of God values material submission.
21 And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
– Mark 10:21 ESV
