A Note from Pastor Randy
In many ways, our world has changed since last week. When we began last week, life was pretty normal. Moms and dads went to work. Students and children went to school. People greeted each other with a handshake. And everyone seemed to have plenty of toilet tissue.
Then, COVID-19 began to sweep through our nation. As it did, people stopped shaking hands. They began to hoard toilet tissue. Schools closed. Moms and dads had to make plans for keeping their kids at home. And, due to recommendations by the Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, many churches moved their worship services online, including us.
We want to thank you for being so adaptable and supportive as a church family as we made the transition to online worship. Once the decision was made to move online last Friday, our team worked diligently to make it happen and they did a great job! And you did a great job by showing up for worship – not on our campus – but on your couches and in your living rooms. Our best estimate is that we had a few hundred people join us online for worship. It was great to see the pictures of your gatherings and to hear the stories of your time together in worship. And several of you responded generously by giving online to help continue the mission of our faith family.
While many things changed since last week, many more did not. God remains sovereign. He was not surprised by this pandemic and He is not scared of it. He remains our Provider, our Healer, our Rock, and our Strength in times of storm.
Our mission also remains the same. We exist to glorify God and make disciples by inviting our community to enjoy fulfilling lives in Christ. Christ calls us to do this wherever we are. And in times of crisis, the world needs the Church more than before. They need to hear and see the gospel of Jesus Christ lived out in and among them by people who follow and live like Jesus.
No one knows what the days ahead hold (except God). As we walk forward together, we will do our best to communicate with you well and often. Most of our communication will come through email, social media, or on our website (www.libertypark.org). As always, if you have any questions or become aware of any needs, please contact us to let us know.
I love you, church family!
Until further notice, all on campus church activities have been suspended.
The Women's Ministry Spring Event, scheduled for April 2, has been cancelled. Due to the COVID-19 precautios to ensure health and safety, the even has been cancelled. We are continuing to plan future events and look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Let’s Read the Bible Together
Even though we are separated by social distancing, we can still do something together. Beginning this Friday, March 20, we encourage everyone in our faith family to begin reading through the Gospel of Luke. We will read one chapter a day and conclude our reading of Luke’s Gospel on Easter Sunday. Beginning Monday, March 23, our pastors will post brief devotional videos Monday through Friday of each week on the appropriate chapters. Let’s all take a break from the chaos and news each day and focus our hearts on Jesus as we read through the Gospel of Luke together.
The first week’s reading schedule is below:
- Friday, March 20 - Luke 1
- Saturday, March 21 - Luke 2
- Sunday, March 22 - Luke 3
- Monday, March 23 - Luke 4
- Tuesday, March 24 - Luke 5
- Wednesday, March 25 - Luke 6
- Thursday, March 26 - Luke 7
- Friday, March 27 - Luke 8
- Saturday, March 28 - Luke 9
Encourage One Another
We are getting a small taste of what our homebound and assisted living members live with on a regular basis. Why don't we use our time at home to encourage one another with cards, letters, or pictures. Our homebound folks would love to hear from you and your family! If you need addresses and names, Carol will be happy to send them to you. Email her at: email@example.com
And please send us updates! We love to praise the Lord for answered prayer and continue to rejoice and pray with you.
