Music Ministry at Liberty Park Baptist Church
Worship ServicesTwo worship services are held each Sunday morning at LPBC, at 8:30 and 11:00. Both services are blended in their musical style, combining the best of old and new. Our regular Sunday schedule also includes an evening service, which is held at 6:00pm. A weekday prayer service is held on Wednesday nights at 6:15pm as well, in conjunction with our Life Transformation Groups and other activities. Sanctuary ChoirOur Sanctuary Choir provides worship leadership for our 11:00am service each Sunday. To prepare for Sundays, the choir meets each Wednesday at 7pm in the sanctuary for rehearsal. Participation in the choir is open to anyone 18 or older who has a heart for worship. In addition to Sunday mornings, the choir presents major programs on Christmas and at other times of the year as well. Student Ministry Music (sm2)sm2 is presented in cooperation with our Student Ministry to provide our students grades 6-12 with an opportunity to express themselves in worship. Adult mentors assist our students in both singing and playing instruments, including guitars, keyboards and drums. sm2 meets each Sunday afternoon at 5pm in the youth room. Children’s ChoirsAt LPBC, we are committed to teaching children how to worship through music. During the school year, age-graded children’s choirs meet on Wednesdays at 5:45pm for children from age three through fifth grade. Basic music instruction, including introduction of fundamental musical concepts, the use of rhythm instruments, Orff instruments and hand bells, and the use age-appropriate music are all used to provide children with an understanding of how to utilize music in worship. The older children’s choirs also employ drama as another instrument for worship. Each year, our children’s choirs present musicals and concerts at Christmas and in the spring. These events, combined with occasional opportunities to sing in our Sunday worship services, provide children with occasions to express themselves in worship leadership in a congregational setting. Our older choirs also make occasional musical presentations at are retirement homes, teaching our children how to employ music in ministering to others. Senior Adult ChoirOur Senior Adult Choir is a new addition to our active Senior Adult Ministry. This lively group meets every second and fourth Monday of most months from 9:15am to 10:00am in the choir room. For more information about our Music Ministry, please contact the Church Office. |
