Christmas in the Village

CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLAGE  in partnership with Oak Tree Ministries

As we learn to love our neighbors as ourselves, we begin to see the world from their point of view, challenging us to reevaluate our own views. Some of us love shopping for Christmas! Others prefer online shopping. But we can all agree it is a joy to give a special gift to our loved ones!

Many parents in our community do not have the privilege of shopping for a special Christmas gift for their child. We want to change that! Rather than giving children gifts from us, what if we were able to provide a way for parents to shop at affordable prices and choose their own gifts for their children? We want to support families in the Village by letting parents have the joy of watching their children open gifts on Christmas morning that come from them!

This Christmas season, TCLP is joining with Oak Tree Ministries. There are three specific ways in which you can help:

  1. Help with lunch. TCLP is providing lunch for 300 people on Saturday December 14th, at 12:00pm. We need those willing to help purchase items, set up the stations, prepare the food, serve the food, clean up, and love on people.
  2. Work a shift at the Christmas in Village shop. The best way to do this is to go onto the website at https://oaktreeministries.org/christmasinthevillage There is a set up time on Thursday and two hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm-4:00pm.
  3. Donate toys to the shop. The website provides great details on how to purchase off their Amazon Wish List or how to determine they type of gift if you want to purchase locally. Also included are donation locations.
