Do Christians in the contemporary church have the courage to counter the culture?

The Bible is clear on a number of issues:
•    Who God is - the holy, just, and gracious Creator of the universe
•    Who we are - men and women created in the image of God for our good and for God's glory
•    Who Christ is and what He has done - His life, death, and resurrection
•    What it means to follow Christ - to die to ourselves and to live in Him
•    Why this matters for eternity - heaven and hell are at stake in our response to the gospel
So how do these truths affect how we respond to the social issues of our day - realities such as poverty, slavery, abortion, sexual immorality, the degradation of marriage, the neglect of orphans and widows, racism, and persecution?
In this six-week video series, David Platt teaches that the truths of the gospel should compel us to a contrite, compassionate, and courageous personal response to social issues in the culture. There will be a cost to follow Christ.  There will be a reward.  Do Christians in the contemporary church have the courage to counter the culture?

This study will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall from SEPT 13 - OCT 18.   There is no fee for this study.

Killing Christians: Living the Faith Where It’s Not Safe to Believe

What is persecution?  Why should we care?  Does the thought of someone willingly - knowingly - putting  themselves at risk, make you uncomfortable?  Dare to comprehend their passion and learn how to be intentionally engaged in this 4-week class led by missionary, Anne Lucas.  This group will meet on Sunday nights at 5:00pm starting November 5.

LPBC and Strong Tower Church in Montgomery are gearing up again for one of the BEST outreach events of the year - FAMILY 2 FAMILY AT THANKSGIVING!  This year, Thanksgiving meal boxes will be distruted in the Gibbs East housing community - one of the largest in Montgomery.

HomeBound Visitation - November 14

"Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad." Proverbs 12:25 (ESV)

We are planning another Homebound Visitation for Tuesday, November 14. If you would like to make some visits, or if you know someone who would benefit from a visit and encouraging word, please contact Paula Cooper and let her know. We will meet in the coffee bar area at the church at 9:30am, Tuesday, November 14.  NOTE: We will make visits to the Homebound on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Plan ahead; this is a wonderful way to serve.
