Youth Fundraiser Yard Sale, Saturday, May 2, 7am - 2pm

The youth will have their second annual Youth Fundraiser Yard Sale on Saturday, May 2 at the church. Last year the sale was a great success and raised more money than we ever have in any fundraiser. We will gladly accept any items that are in good condition.  When you have a car load of donations and you're ready to bring them to the church, please give Wesley a call and let him know that you're on the way so he can direct you where to drop them off.   If you need assistance getting large items to the church, please call or email Wesley Braswell, 969-1236.

Christian Life and Witness Training by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, April 13 - May 2

Franklin Graham will hold a Festival of Hope in Birmingham at the Bartow Arena, August 14-16, 2015.  In preparation for this event, the Evangelistic Association is hosting several Christian Life and Witness classes in our area between April 13 and May 2.  This three-session training will equip you to apply God's Word to everyday life, to develop a devotional quiet time, share your faith with others and serve as a counselor at the Festival of Hope.  The course is free and no registration is required.  To find out more, visit, www.greaterbirminghamfestival.org.  Those who attend  the training are invited, but not obligated, to serve as counselors at the Festival of Hope. 

Mother & Son Outing, April 19

The Children's Ministry is sponsoring a Mother/Son Outing on Sunday, April 19 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Cornerstone Ranch in Gardendale, Alabama.  At the ranch, moms and sons will enjoy the beauty of natural surroundings and participate in activities like canoeing and ziplining.  We will gather and leave from the church immediately after the 11:00am worship service and eat lunch at the ranch.  We will return to the church around 5:00pm.  Registration is open for all boys in grades K-5.  The cost is $20 per couple (son & mom/guest) and $5 for each additional son/guest.  You may drop your payment off at the church or pay on the afternoon of the event.  Sign up online here.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering Update

Thank You!  Because of your generosity and your commitment to missions - local and worldwide, we reached the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering goal of $11,000.  To date, we have received $11,562.  If you meant to give, there's still time.  Just make your check to the church, mark it "Easter Offering," and bring it or mail it to the church.

Sunday School Fellowship, Friday, May 1st

The Adult 4B Ladies, Huston/Landers; Adult 5A Banks/Lucas/Stephens; Adult 5B Men, Martin/Thomas and Media Sunday School classes will have a joint fellowship potluck on Friday, May 1 at 6:00pm at the home of Cheryl and Wes Martin.  Members of each class are invited to attend and bring a dish. 

2015 Deacon Family Ministry Assignments

The assignments are complete.  Each member family of the church has a deacon.  The purpose of the deacons is to serve the congregation and support the ministries of the church.  Do you know who your deacon is? 

Student Ministry Sunday Night Bible Study Series - April 26

One study night remains - Sunday, April 26th!  Don't miss this last opportunity to gather with friends, hang-out and study God’s Word.  The guys will be led by Wesley Braswell and meet at the Minor’s home.  The girls will be led by Lacy Wingard and Evans Smith and meet at the Ivy’s home.  Each Bible study will begin at 5pm and end at 6:30pm.  If you have any questions or need driving directions, please contact Wesley, or 969-1236. Save These Items for VBS!

The Children's Ministry Team has been busy - for months - preparing for the crazy, busy and wonderful week of Vacation Bible School!  Now, they have asked for our help! Please start saving these items.  When you have a sack full, bring them to the church and place them in the labeled boxes in the hallway outside the church office. Thank you!  

  •     Old maps and atlases of any kind 

  •     Cardboard rolls from paper towels and toilet paper 

  •     clean, empty cans (coffee cans, soup cans, etc.) 

  •     Square & rectangular empty tissue boxes 

  •     Empty water bottles
