Missions 2012 Interest Meeting

LPBC will send two teams on international mission this summer. One team will go to Bolivia for medical and church planting work, June 16-24. Another team will go to Guatemala for medical and other mission work, July 14-21. On Sunday, February 26, we will hold a 15-20 minute meeting for anyone interested in participating in either of these missions. The meeting will begin immediately after the 11am worship service.

Discovery Lunch

Teachers and small group leaders: Our next Discovery Lunch is this Sunday, February 26. Is there someone in your class or small group who may be interested in joining the church? If so, then please invite them - and accompany them - to the Discovery Lunch! This casual "meet and greet" time has proven itself to be an effective way of bridging the gap between the pulpit and the pews. The format is casual and brief; we promise to conclude by 1:30pm! For the entire family; children will eat lunch with their parents then go downstairs for a supervised activity. To make reservations for the Discovery Lunch, click here.

The deacon body’s primary function is to serve the body of Christ. For spiritual or physical help, or for prayer, please contact this week’s deacon of the week, Mark Tarnakow, 616-0305 and Darren Bayne, 739-8421. The deacons for next week are Chris Cooper and Barry Prince.

March 4-10 - Week of Prayer for North American Missions

"Whatever It Takes" is this year's theme for the Week of Prayer for North American Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

During the Week of Prayer for North American Missions, consider how you are doing “whatever it takes” to impact the Kingdom of God through your continued prayers, giving, and going in the task God has called us to passionately embrace. Pray for the spotlighted missionaries who represent the dedicated work of thousands like them. Look for the "whatever it takes" daily prayer guide highlighting North American missionaries. The prayer guide is available throughout the church.

A New Baby!

Congratulations to Rebekah (Landers) and Nick Payne on the birth of their third child, Nicholas Bennett, Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Born at Brookwood Hospital, Birmingham, AL, Bennett was 8lbs., 3 oz and 21 3/4". Emma Grace, almost 7, and Ava Kate, almost 5, are excited about their baby brother. Congratulations also to the maternal grandparents, Phyllis and Don Landers.
