Community Wide Fall Kick-Off - Wednesday, August 13th

Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers and join us for a fun family night on Wednesday, August 13th as we kick off our Fall activities.  From 4:30pm – 5:50pm, we will have local food trucks here for your family to purchase supper and/or snacks from, inflatables for the children to play on, and our AWANA Team will be set up to sign your children up for the Fall.  At 6:00pm, Jonnie W, a Christian comedian, will provide entertainment for the entire family on the amphitheater.  Please make plans to attend and help us to get the word out to your family and friends.

Ministry Need:  AWANA

God’s Word is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path.  As we hide it in our hearts, it transforms and renews us, it helps to keep our way pure, and it helps to prevent us from sinning against God.  Each Wednesday night during the school year, AWANA workers seek to disciple our children by helping them to learn and memorize portions of God’s Word.  AWANA begins on Wednesday, August 20th.  In order to minister to and disciple the large number of children we expect to participate, we will need 10 to 12 additional AWANA workers.  AWANA meets on Wednesday nights from 5:45pm – 7:15pm.  If you are interested in discipling children by helping them to memorize God’s word, please contact Shelley Eudy, Christina Bayne, or Nate French.  (If you can only work part of the time on Wednesday nights, we can still use you.)

Children's Ministry - Interim Coordinators Update

In the past few weeks, Pastor Scott and Nate have worked with the Personnel Committee to identify and put in place two individuals to help to coordinate different aspects of the Children's Ministry during this interim period.  Those individuals are:
•    Jessica Brasher - Jessica will serve as our Interim Child Care Coordinator.  In this role, she will be responsible for scheduling and supervising child care for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, and for scheduling child care for other church events.  Having served in our Children's Ministry for several years now, Jessica is well known to our parents with preschoolers and has showed herself to be trustworthy, reliable, and loving in her interactions with children.
•    Steven Ray - Steven will serve as our Interim Children's Ministry Coordinator.  In this role, Steven will be responsible for working with our Children's Ministry leaders and volunteers to plan, coordinate, and implement events and activities for our children.  He will also work to support our AWANA and Sunday school leaders and be the point person for Children's Ministry communications.  Many of you know Steven because he served our church faithfully for two years in the role of Interim Minister of Music.  During those two years, Steven showed initiative, faithfulness, administrative ability, and forethought.
Nate will work closely with both Jessica and Steven in the coming days as they take on these roles.  Please be in prayer for them as they begin these new roles.  Also, when you can, please be available to help when they call.  In order for our Children's Ministry to thrive during this interim period, it will be necessary for each of us to lend a hand and our gifts to this ministry.

Children's Minister Search Committee Update

The Nominating Committee is still in the process of putting the Children's Minister Search Committee together.  They have worked diligently on this matter and hope to finish soon.  When the Search Committee has been seated, we will announce their names to the congregation.

A Thank You

Our family would like to thank Pastor Scott, Pastor Nate and our praying church family for your visits, words of encouragement and most of all your prayers for Daniel and Michelle and Baby Noah during the pregnancy and his birth.  During his 4-week stay in the NICU, he surpassed the doctors' expectations and this was due to the  many prayers lifted up in his name.  We ask for your continued prayers for Noah and Daniel and MIchelle as he grows stronger each day.  Thank you again and we love and care for each of you. ~ The Champion Family
