Liberty Park Baptist Church began as a Sunday School gathering in the home of Morgan and Tirzah Wood in 1886. Located in the Woodlawn community, it soon became known as the Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Only eternity will reveal the numbers of lives touched and transformed by the grace of  God through the ministries of Woodlawn Baptist Church. For more than a century the place of worship and the base ministry was in Woodlawn. In 1993, under the evident leadership of the Spirit of God, the congregation began a relocation process that has brought the church to Liberty Park in Vestavia Hills.

Now God is doing a new and wonderful work through this dedicated family of God, many who made the transition from Woodlawn, and many others who have joined their ranks to build together a fellowship that God can use as His channel of blessing until Christ comes again!
