Below are some wonderful opportunities to support ministries during this Thanksgiving and Christmas Season. Individuals, families, or groups can link to anything below and follow the website access to donate. If you have any questions or experience any challenges please feel free to reach out to David Smith at davidtsmith1471@gmail.com or 205-427-1471.

Operation Christmas Child: Each year, people pack shoebox gifts to bless children in need around the world. Churches and groups collect these boxes the third week of November. Then, thousands of volunteers inspect and prepare the shoeboxes for international shipping. This year we will have two ways to be involved in Operation Christmas Child. There are boxes for you and your family to take home and fill as usual. Or you may take part in the church project, Families on Mission.

  • Families on Mission Project: Go to libertypark.org/occ to sign up to purchase items needed for our boxes, and get them to the church by October 29. Some items still needed include: sunglasses, sewing kits, tennis balls, baseballs, small stuffed animals, combs, toothbrushes, small toy cars or boats, and more! Be sure to check the online list.
  • Families on Mission Day: On November 14, bring your family and friends to the church to help fill up 200 boxes with gifts! If you have any questions, contact ben.stephenson@libertypark.org.

Family to Family (F2F) with Strong Tower in Montgomery: For five years, Liberty Park has been partnering with Strong Tower church in Montgomery to provide Thanksgiving groceries for needy, unchurched families in the Washington Park community. Due to COVID concerns, our congregation will not be participating in the delivery of the groceries this year, but we can continue to support this eternally significant outreach effort with financial gifts and prayer. Your contributions will allow the pastors and members at Strong Tower to deliver the meals and meet with each family to share the gospel and a message of hope.  Donations for the groceries will be accepted through Sunday, November 8. Make your donation to The Church at Liberty Park and designate the gift for F2F (Family 2 Family). If you give online, be sure to write F2F in the memo or notes section.

Christmas in the Village at Oak Tree Ministries: Oak Tree Ministries labors with the people of Mark’s Village in fulfillment of God’s promise to raise up for Himself oak trees of righteousness for the display of His splendor. Isaiah 61:3. www.oaktreeministries.org Last year we had a wonderful time shopping for the workshop, working in the “store”, and cooking and providing meals to those that came to shop. Unfortunately, again due to Covid, we will not be able to work on site. However, we still have the opportunity to purchase or help purchase toys for the store. This is a great way to provide for toys for kids, pride for parents, community relationships, and funding for summer programs.

Wellhouse: Opportunities are available to adopt a resident and purchase items from their Christmas wish list or provide general funding to support the ministry. Please contact Jessica Prescott at jessica@the-wellhouse.org or 205-306-6258 for more details.

Children’s Hope: Children’s Hope and their partners care for children, strengthen families, and serve communities in Haiti in Jesus’ name. They do this through multiple programs - a children’s home, education initiative, medical/dental clinic, community outreach, and a vibrant mission ministry team that serves Haitian communities in partnership with local churches and community leaders.
